Who You Are
We are seeking a highly experienced Planning Enforcement Officer to join our team. This role is geared towards a senior-level professional with a substantial background in managing complex planning enforcement cases. You should have a strong understanding of planning legislation and enforcement procedures, and be confident in making and defending professional decisions. This position requires a proactive individual who is ready to manage a caseload immediately and work independently to deliver outcomes.
What the Job Involves
The Planning Enforcement Officer will manage a personal caseload of planning enforcement cases, focusing on progressing and resolving complex and sensitive matters. This includes carrying out site inspections, gathering evidence, and preparing enforcement reports and notices. You will support formal enforcement actions, including appeals, hearings, or inquiries, and provide senior professional advice to other Planning Enforcement Officers on challenging cases. The role is primarily delivery-focused with no formal line management or service development responsibilities. The role will be undertaken on a hybrid basis, with at least two days per week expected to be office and/or site-based, with occasional additional attendance for urgent site visits.
