Job Description: Gardener

Who You Are

You are a skilled gardener with a minimum of 2 years' experience, ideally holding NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture or equivalent qualifications, and certifications in pesticide application (PA1a & PA6a). You possess a comprehensive knowledge of health and safety requirements, basic machinery maintenance, and have a proven track record of effective gardening practices. You are enthusiastic about working collaboratively as part of a team and are committed to delivering high-quality services to the community. You hold a clean/full UK driving licence and are willing to undergo a standard DBS check and attend necessary training.

What the Job Involves

The role involves maintaining and enhancing green spaces within Council estates under the guidance of a Lead Gardener. This includes the upkeep of ornamental and grassed areas, minor landscaping, and controlling unwanted vegetation. Responsibilities also include securing and maintaining equipment, reporting hazards, and ensuring a high level of customer care. You will be expected to respond to ad hoc duties as directed and contribute to promoting sustainable practices and equality within the community.
