Who You Are
You are an experienced social worker with a strong background in managing Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Public Law Outline (PLO) work. You are adept at managing Section 47 investigations and thrive in fast-paced environments. You bring a commitment to placing the child at the center of your work and possess the ability to work both in a team and independently. You are open to temporary positions with the assurance of receiving support and supervision to help you excel in adhering to St Helens practice standards.
What the Job Involves
This position is within the Duty Service, which responds to all referrals from the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and initiates all necessary assessments and plans for children. You will be part of one of four teams, each supervised by a team manager and assistant team manager, along with six social workers. Duty work is on a rotational basis, where you will respond to referrals and complete assessments during your duty week every four weeks. This is a short-term team placement, responsible for holding cases on a short-term basis with a view to future planning, transfers to longer-term support, or step-down in relation to CIN, CP, and PLO cases. A hybrid work model is in place, requiring a minimum of two office days per week, and five days during your duty period.
